The huge trade deficit in the United States is not only an intrinsic need for U.S. economic growth but also contributes to the U.S. economic growth. It is also not the root cause of the rising unemployment rate in the United States. As a result, the huge trade deficit has long-term coexistence with economic growth and low unemployment. The differences between the special status of the U.S. dollar and the unique U.S. import and export commodity structure as well as the deficit data obtained by intra-MNCs’ internal trade and statistics have also explained the rationality of the huge trade deficit in U.S. economic growth from different perspectives. Although the huge trade deficits do not hinder the U.S. economic growth temporarily, attention must be paid to its potential risks in the future.
