本文旨在探讨本雅明(Walter Benjamin)翻译观之于今天翻译学的意义。首先,对本雅明的翻译观进行阐述,着重论述他特有的动态的、前瞻的视角,进而探讨他主张“词译”理论的深层依据,并提出他对翻译目的及性质的定位。在此基础上,以卫礼贤(Richard Wilhelm)对老子之“道”的译解为例,深入分析翻译如何从字词入手,揭示语言之间在表意方式上的互补,最终促成众语言走向完满的纯语言,以此说明本雅明翻译观所具有的现实意义。
The purpose of this article is to explore the significance of Walter Benjamin’s translation theory to today’s translation studies. Firstly, it elaborates on Benjamin’s translation concept, focuses on his unique dynamic and forward-looking perspective, and then explores his deep-rooted theory of “translation” and puts forward his position on the purpose and nature of translation. On this basis, taking Richard Wilhelm’s translation of Lao Tzu’s “Tao” as an example, this paper analyzes in depth how translation starts with words and reveals the complementary ways of expression between languages, Language to the perfect pure language, in order to illustrate Benjamin’s translation concept has the practical significance.
