The purpose of this essay is to review Marisa Karl’s academic monograph The Prince of Wales of Shakespeare. Although many researchers before Carl have analyzed from different perspectives how early modern English writers combined the history of England and the history of England with the political, cultural and religious forces to construct the history of the Kingdom of Great Britain, Carl’s innovation and contribution lies in the study of the dynastic political significance of the title of the Tudor and Early Welsh Princes of the Stuttgart period by interpreting the relevant plots in early modern England dramas and pointing out the political changes in the dynasty process.
