中国戏曲既是带“唱”的话剧 ,又是带“说”的歌剧 ,唱、念(说 )、做、打 ,熔为一炉 ,有着十分丰富的艺术表现手段 ,“说”即李渔所说的“宾白”。他对“宾白”高度重视 ,认为“宾白一道 ,当与曲文等视”;而且认为 ,不但“唱”要讲韵律美 ,“说”同样也要讲韵律美。李渔还对包括宾白在内的戏曲语言提出了“文贵洁净”的要求。此外 ,李渔在谈戏曲语言问题时 ,还顺便谈到了艺术想象 ,并有精彩见解
