固体物理的發展在我国社会主义建設中具有很大的意义,而固体电子理論則是固体理論基础的中心部分,是磁学、导体、半导体、低温、固态光学等方面的理論基础。中国科学院数学物理学化学部根据1957年第八次常委扩大会議物理組的决定,在今年1月11日至13日召开了固体电子理論的进展的学术討論会,了解了这个領域內的国內外主要研究情况,并提请理論物理工作者重視这方面的問題。
