[World Nuclear News website reported on June 1, 2012] The International Uranium Enrichment Center (IUEC) has signed a contract for the supply of concentrated services with Ukraine’s nuclear fuel company. The International Uranium Enrichment Center will therefore participate in Russia’s process of providing nuclear fuel for the Ukrainian nuclear power plant. In the future, Russian nuclear fuel for the Ukrainian nuclear power plant will use enriched uranium provided by the International Uranium Enrichment Center. Ukraine currently holds 10% of the center’s shares. Pursuant to the contract, Ukraine will supply natural uranium to the International Uranium Enrichment Center. The uranium enrichment product, uranium enrichment product, will then be submitted to the Russian Nuclear Fuel Production Group (TVEL) for the manufacture of nuclear fuel for the Ukrainian nuclear power plant. The first uranium fuels under the contract are expected to arrive in Ukraine by the end of 2012.
