CERN is not just a scientific research institute, but its greater value lies in its worldwide impact; it is a remark by V.F.Weisskopf, an honorary professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The first third century after 1900 is a leading position in basic physics in Western Europe. Later in the United States, almost all the research work in this area was carried out. After World War II, Western Europe resumed its lead in this field and established CERN, the “European Union” of basic physics, as an international research center. CERN divides the traditional European qualities - such as the elegance of the structure
