替古人立法,意指替已故的仁人志士、文化精英、民族英雄、社会贤达立法,维护他们的历史地位和社会声誉,使之免遭诽谤和诬陷;若遇伤害,也有个说理的地方。这是近期读几篇评论孔子的文章,特别是读胡弦的《孔子师徒与卫国美人》以后产生的想法。
To legislate for the ancients means to legislate for the deceased benefactors, cultural elites, national heroes and community leaders to safeguard their historical status and social reputation from defamation and framing. In case of injury, there is also a reason to be justified. This is the recent reading of a few articles on Confucius, especially after reading the poem “Confucius mentoring and beauty of the Wealth” later generated ideas.
