Objective: To determine the safety and efficacy of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) on the pedicle for bone metastasis pain reduction after routine treatment failure.Methods: Pedicle RFA technology was applied in patients who suffered severe pain from bone metastases after conventional treatments, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy and analgesic drug administration.Using imaging methods, the pedicle with the greatest associated pain was designated as puncture point.Then, RFA was applied on one pedicle.Visual analog scales (VAS) were used to measure thechange in the patients preoperative and postoperative pain levels.In addition, the patients analgesic use was also recorded in the follow-up stage.
