通过与松尾芭蕉的同季题句“聚集五月雨急流最上川”的比较、分析,赏析了与谢芜村名句“五月雨大河岸边房两间”的选景技巧、表现特征及其主题深意。得出了芜村以其画家、俳人特有的知性和艺术资质,用印象、绘画的表现手法,通过大雨季节“大河”岸边两间“房”这一巧妙构图,鲜明而形象地表现出了人类生存与自然的关系,揭示出了人类实存矛盾本质的结论。认为芜村此句所反映的生存不安具有现实启迪性。
