To study the development of the thermal stress in different seasons of external wall with XPS thermal insulation, based on the calculation results of the temperature field on the external walls with a typical external thermal insulation layer.This paper presented the analytical model using Fourier and law of energy conservation.Using the coupling temperature stress analysis of the third kind boundary condition , embedding temperature and convection coefficient subroutine of Abaqus finite element model Numerical simulation analyzed three construction programs of EPS external thermal insulation.Programl was 30mm powder polystyrene particles stick to EPS insulation board;Program2 was 10mm powder polystyrene particles stick to EPS insulation board;Program3 was extemal wall thin plaster.Analyze the mechanical behavior of wall material in each layer in external thermal insulation system.Learned that the following conclusions: The whole outer surface of the wall subject to compressive stress in summer.The finish coatings stress change from-0.28MPa to-0.37MPa in a day.Expansion from the wall is relatively large risk.Stress change from0.05MPa to 0.28MPa in winter.The risk of cracking is relatively large.Temperature gradient is smallest and the heat preservation effect is best.
