Background,Motivation and Objective In recent years,the advent of smartphones and tablet PCs,has made necessary to use multi-touch or stylus-based input devices that are more useful for mobile applications.Several solutions based on different types of optical and acoustical interactions have been presented in literature.In the IEEE IUS 2014 conference,we demonstrated that the back cover of a smartphones can be used as active input devices;in this paper we analyze its performances both by FEM and experimentally,by means of a prototype.
