Objective To investigate the incidence rate,types,time of occurrence,and impact factors in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with secondary malignancy in Chaoshan area,and to evaluate effect of T2DM on the development of malignancy,so as to provide the epidemiological evidence in association between T2DM and malignancy.Methods With cluster sampling,all the T2DM were enrolled in the study from January 2003 to December 2007 in the First and the Second Affiliated =Hospital of Shantou Medical College,and those non-diabetes subjects were used as control.
