Carotid blow out syndrome (CBOS) is a catastrophic emergency associated with high morbidity and mortality (M&M).The usual causes are: head and neck malignant tumor invasion, post operative, post radiation therapy, inflammatory and trauma, among others.The conventional surgical management, including carotid artery and/or branch ligation and/or carotid artery bypass, is fraught with high M&M, may be ineffective and result with limited success.
