Classical integral equation methods for solving wave propagation problems include the direct discretization of the time-domain integral equation, the frequency-domain approaches and the dual reciprocity approach.A relatively new approach is to use convolution quadrature developed by Lubich [1] to discretize the time-domain integral equation. The resulting discretized system involves the integration weights determined by one function, usually the kernel function,in the Laplace domain and another function, typically boundary data,in the time domain.Due to its better stability compared to the classical time discretization approach, convolution quadrature based boundary element method(CQBEM)has attracted much attention and applications of the method can be found in a variety of areas.
