Tap-scan damage detection method can obtain structural damage information indirectly from the acceleration signal of the tapper, which contains the local impedance of the structure.The sensitivity and noise resistance are further enhanced by strictly control the excitation and response signals.This talk will firstly explain its theoretical basis and the difference from other related methods.Then, implementation cases will be given in the fields of bridge engineering, composites, rail fasteners, etc.
