8-Hydroxyquinoline metal chelates are one of the most reliable electro-transporting and emitting materials,which are applied in molecular-based OLEDs for their thermal stability,high fluorescence,and excellent electron-transporting mobility.Since Tang and Vanslyke used tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum(Alq3) as the emitting and electron-transporting material for the fabrication of organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs),HQ-based ligands have been further employed for potential applications in optical devices.In many cases,research suggests that the zinc analog of light-emitting materials AlQ3,zinc bis(8-hydroxyquinoline)(ZnQ2) has a better injection ef efficiency,a lower operating voltage,and higher quantum yields than the commonly used AlQ3.Inspired by these results,in order to retain the excellent photoelectron properties of 8-hydroxyquinoline itself,a feasible approach is to modify the 2-,5-or 7-position of the 8-hydroxyquinoline rings with different functional groups.Herein,we designed and synthesised novel Zn(Ⅱ)/Co(Ⅱ) complexes based on two 2-substituted-8-hydroxyquinoline ligands.In addition,we also studied the thermal stability,magnetic properties and fluorescent properties of the complexes in the solid state.
