Gold-catalyzed propargylic ester rearrangement is very important in gold-mediated synthesis,which can undergo further cascade transformations,including intra-or intermolecular trapping,cycloaddition,cross-coupling and oxidation reactions.Within these reactions,complex cyclic,acyclic and polycyclic structures can be accessible.However,the selectivity between 1,3-(to allenes) and 1,2-migration(to carbenoids) is still ambiguous,which remains a challenge for the development of gold-mediated synthesis methodology.Herein,we present a concise theoretical mode,based on the resonance structure of gold activated propargylic esters complex,to rationalize the regioselectivity between 1,3-and 1,2-migration.
