Modern nanoparticle-based drug delivery platforms require further development, both to increase their long-term pharmacological efficiencies as well as to reduce potential side effects. These rely on the improvement of the retention time of therapeutic nanoparticles in human body with localized pharmacological effects. To address these challenges,we have developed a polycaprolactone (PCL) composite film embedded with inorganic nanocarriers (i.e.mesoporous/core-shell silica nanoparticles) based on the cryomiling of mixtures followed by melt-pressing into flexible films.
