One of the most unfailing questions about causal inference is how people represent the knowledge about the cause, the effect and their linkage.Evidence from behavioral studies suggest that causally related events are represented in an iconic temporal order of actual occurrence with the cause preceding the effect. But there are also theories positing that the representational order is rather conditional probably given that the sequence in which the cause and the effect of an event are REALIZED in reasoning might also affect the representations.
