Grafting of elastomeric biomaterial scaffolds may offer an alternative strategy for the regeneration of disease or injured or soft organs, such as myocardial infarction and Hirschsprung disease. To engineer soft tissues, which are non-linearly elastic, the biomaterials are expected to have similar mechanical properties in order to avoid any physically detrimental effect.
