Pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC) is an innovative method of intraperitoneal chemotherapy (IPC).Its rationale is to generate an artificial pressure gradient that counteracts intratumoral interstitial fluid pressure, to distribute drugs homogeneously within the abdominal cavity as an aerosol and to use a minimal-invasive approach allowing repeated cycles of chemotherapy.
