Over the past decade striking experimental achievements in trapping and cooling atoms in one-dimensional(1D)optical waveguides have provided remarkable realizations of exactly solved models in the lab. However, testing and controlling the universal Luttinger liquids in experiment with ultracold atoms trapped in one dimension still remains an open problem. In this talk I will discuss universal nature of quantum liquids in 1D interacting bosons and fermions through the Wilson ratio and the Luttinger paramter which are solely determined by the measurable compressibilities and sound velocities. These parameters build up a precise description of quantum liquids in 1D interacting many-body systems of bosons and fermions with quantum integrability.
