Molecular imprinting is a powerful synthetic strategy that can offer tailor-designed affinity materials for various practical applications.Recent developments in this area have brought in many interesting formats of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) that enable fast and efficient separation and simple analytical sample preparations. Some representative new MIP formats we have studied in the past years include nanoparticles, uniform microspheres and composite nanofibers.MIP nanoparticles can be synthesized using simple precipitation polymerization, and be used as building blocks to construct multifunctional structures.
