Chrysanthemum stunt viroid (CSVd) was first reported in the US in 1940s and has to date been found to be widespread in the world wherever chrysanthemum is grown.CSVd can cause considerable economic losses in the chrysanthemum industry.In Norway, CSVd causes serious problems in the production of Argyranthemum, a genus closely related to Chrysanthemum.
