The Asian tiger mosquito,Aedes albopictus(Skuse),is currently the most invasive mosquito species in the world.Over the last 30 years,this species has spread rapidly through human travel and commerce from its native tropical forests of Asia to every continent except Antarctic.The first established population of Ae.albopictus in the continental United States was discovered in Harris County,Texas during the summer of 1985.
