  The development of photocatalysts for converting solar energy directly into chemical fuels such as hydrogen has attracted much attention due to the ongoing depletion of fossil fuels and global emphasis on environmental sustainability.The current work presents an efficient and eco-friendly ball-milling method for scalable production of highly efficient visible-light-driven photocatalysts of iodine doping [1] or delaminating graphitic carbon nitride [1,2].
