中医学关于肝的含义十分广泛,既概括了西医中的消化系统,又包括了精神情志和循环系统、运动系统的功能。中医认为肝是“体阴而用阳”。“体阴”指肝脏实体属阴,肝主藏血,有贮藏血液和调节血量的生理功能。肝的藏血功能,主要体现于肝内必须贮藏一定的血量,以制约肝的阳气升腾,勿使过亢,以维护肝的疏泄功能,使之冲合条达。若肝脏有病,藏血功能失常,不仅会引起血虚或出血,而且也能引起机体许多部分的血液濡养不足的病变。如肝血不足,不能濡养于目,则两眼干涩昏花,或为夜盲;若不能濡养于筋,则筋脉拘急,肢体麻木,屈伸不利等。“用阳”
