Mr. Chen Yifei’s historical documentary “Runaway Shanghai” tells the world a long time ago. More than half a century has passed, this period of time is gradually forgotten. In 1933 Hitler came to power in Germany, and European Jews didomed bad luck. They were desperation and under-driven by the Nazis. As the world shouted at their survival, the world was indifferently watched. However, the Chinese people extended their aid to them. The people of Shanghai hosted the friendly reception of 30,000 Jewish refugees, of whom 5,000 left Shanghai for somewhere else. Statistics after World War II showed that more than 1,500 Jewish refugees were dead, died, or died of war; more than 400 Jewish children were born. Jewish refugees in a strange Shanghai had a catastrophe. Learn from history, this past should be known to the world.
