作为一个学贯中西的学者型作家,陈铨不同于通常意义上的文学家。他接受了德国思想文化的影响,并在此基础上形成了自己独特的文学思想和文学风格。陈铨的戏剧创作充分地体现了德国狂飙运动与浪漫派文学的浪漫传奇风格,在20世纪40年代遍地烽火的中国显得格外与众不同。陈铨的剧作围绕着战争、爱情和道德这三大永恒的文学主题,但着眼点不仅仅是把戏剧当作宣传民族主义、鼓舞抗战救国的工具,而是将民族精神、个人情感与人生感悟融合在一起,使他的剧作在整体上呈现出一种丰富复杂的艺术风貌。
As a scholar-writer who studies both Chinese and western cultures, Chen Quan is different from the typical literary writer. He accepted the influence of German ideology and culture, and on this basis he formed his own unique literary thoughts and literary styles.
