英语词典是学习英语的必备工具。本文以在中国备受欢迎的《朗文当代高级英语辞典(英英·英汉双解)》第4版为对象,主要从相关认知理论和原则入手,结合该辞典本身的内容和结构,分析和评估优点与不足,并提出一些改进意见。经分析,该辞典遵循双重编码理论、格式塔理论和凸显原则,不太符合原型范畴理论和基本层次范畴理论,在释义和词性及词义的排序上仍有改进的空间,希望能为我国的英语学习者和英汉字典的编纂者提供借鉴与参考。
English Dictionary is an essential tool for learning English. This essay is based on the fourth edition of the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English Longman (English-Chinese, English-Chinese), which is popular in China. Starting with the relevant cognitive theories and principles, combining with the content and structure of the dictionary, And assess the advantages and disadvantages, and put forward some suggestions for improvement. After analysis, this dictionaries follows double coding theory, formatting tower theory and highlighting principle, and does not accord with archetypal category theory and basic hierarchy theory. There is still room for improvement in the definition and part of speech and word meaning, Learners and English-Chinese dictionary compilers provide reference and reference.
