According to West German military technology magazine April-May 1980, the new linecan 214 (line scan 214) real-time infrared sensor, first developed by BAFIL, is being successfully developed by the British Royal Signal and Radar Research Center and other government Department for evaluation. This sensor is intended to be mounted on a fixed-wing aircraft or a helicopter. It has now been installed on modified Viscount turboprop propelled passenger aircraft for evaluation tests. The sensor is coupled with a high-resolution scan recorder. Through a rotating mirror system to scan the terrain under the aircraft to detect small changes in infrared radiation, and the shape
