东方艺术·大家:我注意到在你的《荒城》系列作品中,经常会出现水和火相关的形象,为什么会将这两种完全对立的物质放在作品中呢?于向溟:水和火在我的作品里都是一种不安的物质,如人或者植物被淹没在水中,是一种窒息的不安。如同你远眺大海和真正掉入海中被淹没是不同的感受。火也是如此,我的画面里,着火的车、冒烟的楼房或者是无以名状的火焰都是某种程度上绝望和恐慌的体现。东方艺术·大家:你描绘的马的形象,时常给人以不安和无助的感觉,在很多时候都像是在疾走中,这是对逃离的隐喻吗?
Oriental Art · Everybody: I noticed that the water and fire-related images often appear in your series of “The City of the Deserts”. Why these two completely opposite materials are put in the works? In Xiang Ming: Water and Fire is a disturbing substance in my work, as a person or plant submerged in water is a choking uneasiness. It is a different feeling as if you were overlooking the sea and really falling into the sea. The same is true of fire, and in my picture, a burning car, a smoking building, or a flaming flame is all a manifestation of hopelessness and panic. Oriental Art · Everyone: The image of a horse you portray often gives you a feeling of anxiety and helplessness. It often happens that you are running away. Is this a metaphor for fleeing?
