The experimental results of a horizontal condenser with a capacity of 139.2 kilowatts (120,000 kcal / h) using ammonia as a medium and a crossbeam as a reinforcing element show that the cross-tube has a significant heat transfer enhancement effect on hydrogen horizontal condensation . Under the experimental conditions, the total heat transfer coefficient of the transverse tube condenser is 1,65 times that of the light tube, which can save 40% of the heat exchange area. This transverse tube enhanced heat transfer technology can be widely used in ammonia refrigerators.
