In recent years, China’s synthetic rubber industrial technology development capabilities continue to grow, forming a relatively complete synthetic rubber industrial system. However, compared with developed countries, some of our gums still have a gap in terms of production technology, product performance and intellectual property protection. After half a century of development, our country has become the world’s major producer and consumer of synthetic rubber. In 2012, China’s synthetic rubber production exceeded 2.8 million tons and its apparent consumption reached 3.8 million tons. It has become a veritable producer and consumer of synthetic rubber with the highest output and consumption in the world.
