箭舌豌豆是一种重要的豆科绿肥,结瘤率高,共生固氮活性强。根瘤固氮活性的有效时间主要集中在营养生长阶段,伸长期最高,初花期开始下降。高温对箭舌豌豆根瘤固氮活性的影响比低温大,在0~25℃范围内,无论处理3小时或24小时,固氮活性变化的幅度均不大,在-5℃条件下放3小时固氮活性仍可保持在最高水平的50%,但温度升至30℃时固氮活性显著下降。在南方果园的冬季绿肥中,箭舌豌豆根瘤固氮的农业效果均比苕子、紫花苜蓿和白三叶草的好,其固氮量比27904苕子大10倍。
