【摘要】围绕“给母亲送什么礼物”这一话题展开教学,引导学生通过讨论、交流和评价从而熟悉句型“Why don’t you do something?”以及应答方法。让学生在交际活动中学会用英语表达自己的意见和看法。重在培养学生的语言习得能力、实践能力、合作能力及创新意识。

一、教材分析
本课选自人教版新目标英语八年级下册第八单元的第一课时。本单元的中心话题是“Gift giving”(送礼)。通过送礼谈论如何对事物进行比较,并给出合理性建议。本节课围绕“给母亲送什么礼物”这一话题展开教学,引导学生通过讨论、交流和评价从而熟悉句型“Why don’t you do something?”以及应答方法。让学生在交际活动中学会用英语表达自己的意见和看法。重在培养学生的语言习得能力、实践能力、合作能力及创新意识。
二、教学目标
1、知识与能力目标:a.掌握本课的单词与词组,如:scarf, tennis ball, camera, photo album, creative, special, personal等。b.掌握本课句型:what should I get my mother? Why don’t you…?/Why not do…?/ How about a camera? That’s too boring/ not special enough.c.学会谈论和比较不同的东西,并学会征询建议并提合理性的建议和意见。
2、过程与方法目标:采用教学图片,通过Discussion, pairwork, groupwork等活动,引导学生进行听力与口语交际训练。
3、情感目标:学会了解他人,关爱他人。关爱父母, 走进父母。
三、教学重点与难点
1、重点:学习运用重点句型 What should I get her for her birthday? Why don’t you get her a scarf?及学习使用描述性形容词。2、难点:Why don’t的正确使用。
四、教法分析
结合教材及学情、遵循教学原则和认知规律,我采用了情景教学法、听说法,结合即将来临的母亲节,采用任务型教学法,在活动中导入目标语言,通过交流及操练,让学生在用中学、在学中用。
五、教学步骤
Step 1: Leading-in.
Let students enjoy an interesting song “Party Time”.(设计说明:用学生感兴趣的flash歌曲导入新课,将学生带入到生日场景中,充分地调动了学生的学习兴趣。)
Step 2: Present the new words.
Situation: Yesterday was my daughter’s birthday and she had a birthday party yesterday evening. She received many gifts. Do you want to see her gifts? Ok,I’ll show you some of her gifts.
Show students some pictures of my daughter’s birthday gifts and let them give their comments to each gift.(设计说明: 用ppt给学生展示女儿的生日礼物,激发了学生的好奇心,促使学生积极学习一些礼物名词及描述性形容词。)
Step 3: Guessing game.
T: Boys and girls! Let’s play a guessing game. Here is the rule: I’ll show you a gift once and it will sparkle for a very short time on the screen. You should use a proper adjective to comment it. Clear? (设计说明:用学生感兴趣的guessing game来巩固并检测礼物名词及描述性形容词掌握情况。)
Step 4: Listening 1b.
Situation: There is a boy who is very upset because tomorrow is his mother’s birthday and he doesn’t know what he should get her for her birthday. Look at 1b. Let’s see what his decision is at last.(设计说明:通过听力练习让学生初步感知如何提出建议以及如何给出评论。)
Step 5: Let students summarize“How to make suggestions and comments?”
Suggestions:Why don’t you …?/Why not …? How / What about …?
Comments:That’s a good idea./That sounds good./She’ll like it.
That’s too boring / That’s not special enough.
(设计说明:通过听力练习学生已经了解了如何提出建议以及如何给出评论,让学生一起来总结一下,既加深了学生的印象,又进一步明确了本节课的目标语言。) Step 6: Pairwork
Situation 1:This Friday is my grandparents’birthday. I don’t know what I should get them? Please give me some suggestions.
Students give the teacher some suggestions and the teacher gives some comments.
Situation 2:Suppose tomorrow is your mother’s birthday. Now It’s your turn to talk about the gifts you want to give your mother.)(设计说明:首先创设情境通过师生互动进一步练习目标语言,再通过生生互动来巩固目标语言。)
Step 7:listening and oral practice.
1. Listening 2a and 2b
2. Let students show their answers in a short dialogue.(设计说明:再次通过听力及对话练习强化目标语言。)
Step 8: Groupwork.
Mother’s Day is coming. Let students discuss what gifts they can get or what they can do for their mothers on mother’s Day.
After discussion show us your dialogue.(设计说明:创设真实情景,让学生以母亲节为话题自由运用本单元目标语言进行小组讨论,从而再次强化目标语言并对本节课内容进行适当拓展和延伸。)
Step 9: Sublimation.
Share the meaning of mother one letter after another with students.
T: Our mothers are very great. They give everything they have to us and they did everything they can for us. We are growing up but they are getting older and older. Let’s make a wish. Show me your hands and hold them together, then close your eyes. Let’s speak out our wishes after me:I hope my mother will be healthy, happy and beautiful forever.
(设计说明: 伴随着轻柔的钢琴曲与学生一起分享“Mother”的含义,阐释母亲的伟大,从而升华了本课主题.)
Step 10: Homework
1. Write down the result of your discussion.
2. Do something for your parents to show your love.
(设计说明: 通过写作练习,使学生进一步掌握本节课的目标语言;通过亲身实践为父母做一些力所能及的事情,使学生走进父母,关爱父母。)
