Testis in some mammals, including humans, regulates pituitary gonadotropin (GTH) secretion through negative feedback. Negative feedback regulation of GTH secretion is mainly mediated by testosterone (T) and estradiol, but its exact mechanism is not fully understood. It is known that LH is released in the form of pulses from the pituitary gland, which is the result of intermittent LHRH release from the hypothalamus to the hypothalamic pituitary portal vein and stimulation of the pituitary gland. Therefore, the frequency of LH pulse in blood directly reflects the frequency of hypothalamic pulse LHRH release. In rats and other castrated animals,
