由于我研究的专业是数量经济学和信息经济学,国内的文献几乎是一片空白,只能从国外找文献,不得不读“洋书”.“洋书”更难读,但又必须读.这就要求先掌握外文工具.我先后攻克三门外文,俄文、英文和日文,中青年学外文容易会,但必须在应用中加以巩固.“文革”前,主要找前苏联的专业文献,我选中了涅姆钦诺夫院士的遗著《经济数学方法和模型》,这本书是他从事经济数学方法研究的代表作.我读完了它,并且以我为主组织其他两位同志把它译成了中文,供商务印书馆出版.我读此书,没有生吞活剥,照搬过来,而对书内的观点与资料、理论与方法加以区别,对一些概念、提法加以分析和评论.吸收其中好的思想,如经济控制论的思想,屏弃一些似是而非的术语,如计划计量学等.

Good ideas, such as economic control theory, discard specious terms such as metrology.
