(一)建设社会主义时代特色的现代新文化,是我们每个教育战线上的同志殚精竭虑的同题。上海是改革开放的前沿,建设国际经济、金融、贸易大都市的脉搏,维系着我们每颗跳荡的心。具有社会主义特色的现代文明,离不开民族文化。明确地说,必须根植于具有五千年悠久历史的传统文化;尤其是下一代,应该在他们稚嫩的心灵田野上播撤我们中国优秀的传统文化的种子。(二)如何对待我国传统文化,在我们思想上也有个认识过程。中华民族的传统文化宝库中,不可能为我们提供现成的精神养料,精华与糟粕并存。举个例子说,
