After nearly five years of hard work, the Pharmacopoeia Committee of the Ministry of Health has compiled “Glossary of Chinese-English, Chinese-English Medicine Names” (hereinafter referred to as “Glossary”) which was published in August 1984 and contains about 4,500 commonly used drugs Name, with reference to “INN” for a unified translation, named, including about 200 kinds of antibiotics. The Vocabulary was widely solicited from various sources prior to its publication. The publication has so far shown the superiority of the nomenclature adopted. Although there is room for discussion of individual translations, the nomenclature it adopts It is worth promoting. There is still a certain degree of confusion in the naming of antibiotics in our country over the years. I very much hope that the antibiotic community will work hard to promote this principle based on the “vocabulary” and jointly implement the principles put forward by the “vocabularies” compilation group Principle, to achieve a unified antibiotic name, to facilitate the use and exchange.
