(三) 实验档案馆是一个新事物,对其特点、职能,工作方式、工作内容的认识,需要随着它酝酿、产生、发展的不间断过程不断深化。 我们认为,实验档案馆是设立于高等学校内部的。通过利用其所保管的档案向学校师生和社会有关方面提供信息服务,进而为档案学教学与科学实验服务的教育机构。 实验档案馆是一个实实在在的档案馆。它保管有档案,并以作为科学文化事业机构的一般档案馆完全相同的方式,向学校师生及社会有关方面提供档案信息服务,而且具有为此所需要的一切必要条件:较为丰富和系统的馆藏;符合标准、适合需票的馆舍:先进的设备:一整套科学管理方法和制度以及胜任工作的组织管理人员队伍等。
