[Objective]The aim was to establish the fingerprints of Alpinia oxyphylla Miq.by HPLC.[Method]The HPLC was used and the chromatographic conditions were as follows:column of ODS Hypersil VP-ODS(150 L×4.6 mm),mobile phases of water-acetonitrile(V:V=70:30),sampling volume of 20 μl and detection wavelength of 220 nm.[Result]The fingerprints of Alpinia oxyphylla Miq.obtained from different areas of Hainan Province were similar,while different from that obtained from Guangdong Province and Guangxi Province.The fingerprints of Alpinia oxyphylla Miq.obtained from Guangdong Province and Guangxi Province were similar as that obtained from the other areas.[Conclusion]Ten kinds of fingerprints were obtained by this rapid,convenient and reliable method,which would be a new rapid identification method for Alpinia oxyphylla Miq..
