在毛主席革命路线指引下,尤其是无产阶级文化大革命以来,哈密地区林业战线上的广大职工和社员群众认真贯彻执行毛主席、党中央关于加强森林保护管理和“保护森林,并有计划发展林业”的指示,及认真执行“予防为主,积极消灭”的方针,深入批判林彪反革命修正主义路线及其破坏社会主义林业建设的罪行,同一切破坏森林的行为作斗争,到一九七五年为止,已夺得了连续二十四年无林火的成绩。使大面积森林得到正常的生长,森林资源逐步扩大,为社会主义经济建设作到了有计划生产木材,为农牧业生产保持水土,涵养水源等起到了重要作用。
