Intravenous injection of 10% polymer dextran was used to replicate a rabbit model of microcirculatory disturbance. The effects of Danshensu, a water-soluble constituent of Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, on microvascular and plasma lactate levels were observed. The results showed that: 1. Different doses of Danshen injection were injected intravenously. Both liquid and danshensu injection (excluding Tween) could increase the number of intersections of the conjunctiva and mesenteric microvessels in rabbits with microcirculatory disturbances (the saline control group had no such effect).
