法国的中小学教育注重个人天资与才能的发展,以及个人理想的实现,还重视培养学生有创见性独立思考、尊重他人的看法、劳动和感情的品格,希望每一名学生成为对社会有责任心和守纪律的一员。他们的教学方法总的趋向是加强个别化教学,实现教学技术的现代化。其个别化教学是将法语、数学、现代外语三门课按能力分组,其他课程仍按年龄编级。不同组的学生,根据其学习进展情况,可以调换小组,一年之内可作数次调整,以激发学生的进取心。法国为改进教学技术,各课程教学中广泛使用微电脑或视听手段,用于讲授、复习、质疑等各教学环节,以利于发展学生的推理、思维和自学能力。
