In 1980, American cognitive linguist Gorge Lakoff and Markjohnson published metaphor “Metahphors we live by” as a metaphor for omnipresence, not only in language but also in thought and behavior. The everyday conceptual system upon which ideas and actions are based is also essentially metaphorical in nature. The significance of writing this essay lies in the fact that Russian students can take note of these metaphorical words in their future Chinese learning and intercultural communication through their research on this subject and can not just understand it according to their own cultural traditions and customs These words Avoid misunderstandings and affect normal communication. In terms of teaching, I hope I can recognize the reasons why Russian overseas students in China make mistakes while learning Chinese metaphors. It pointed out that targeted measures should be taken to make the best use of the situation and set a target for further promotion of Chinese teaching to Russian students.
