二○○八年三月,我游访了洛阳白马寺。后汉时,两位印度僧人携经卷乘白马到达此地,建立了这座寺院,被认为是佛教传来中国的肇始。境内漂浮的空气,仿佛把二十一世纪的现在一下子带回一世纪的世界。刻于七世纪的《般若波罗蜜多心经》(唐三藏法师玄奘奉召译)石碑伫立于此。在日本,自空海弘法之后,玄奘所译《心经》普及于一般民众,保留了梵文原本的发音,使之作为密咒流传。站在“玄奘奉召译”的石碑前,想着佛教传来之初这些珍贵的故事,我见到了当时担任
In March 2008, I visited the White Horse Temple in Luoyang. In the late Han dynasty, two Indian monks came to the area with their voluptuous white horse to establish the monastery, which was considered as the beginning of Buddhism coming to China. Floating in the air, as if now the twenty-first century now back to the world of the first century. Inscribed in the seventh century, “Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra” (Tang Sanzang Master Xuan Zang called translation) stone stands here. In Japan, since the empty sea method was adopted, Xuanzang’s translated Heart Sutra spread to the general public, retaining the original pronunciation of Sanskrit as a secret charm. Standing in front of the stone tablet called “Xuan Zang called for translation,” I came across these precious stories from the beginning of Buddhism.
