Postmodern movies emerged in the early 1990s. Since the western society experienced a series of political and economic turmoil, a rebellious, purposeless, decentralized and mixed culture emerged in Europe and the United States. The emergence of postmodernist movies is considered to be the inevitable result of post-modernist culture. The filming techniques, narrative methods, thematic thinking, all deeply imprinted on the mark of postmodernism culture. In this paper, we take the “Pulp Fiction” as an example to analyze the storyline, role composition, shooting techniques and features of such films and the development trend of the future “postmodern” movie “fragmentation” narrative model.
