PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan has said the provincial government would provide Rs100 million to 1,000 schools of the province including 350 higher secondary schools for improving the sports facilities.
According to an official handout, speaking at a sports festival at Haripur, he said Rs100,000 will be given to each school to improve sports facilities for the students for their physical growth.
He further said besides this amount, Rs1 million would soon be provided to each higher secondary school for parents-teachers’ council for utilisation under different heads.
The minister said the government is also considering setting up sponsored educational institutions at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the help of overseas Pakistanis, adding that transparency would be ensured in the process for confidence building of the overseas Pakistanis.
He said the provincial government has taken various measures including appointments and transfers of teachers on merit in order to eliminate corruption and politics from Education Department.
